Our BUDGET adventure

OK.....so, we're going to Melbourne.....on a VEEERRRRY tight budget. So our travel itinerary was going to be something like this:

8am - 2pm: Bus ride on First Coach from Bandar Utama to Singapore
2pm - 6pm: figure out how to get to Changi airport by MRT, figure out whether Tiger airways flies out of Changi or the budget terminal and execute the plan.
6pm - 12am: Tiger airways to Darwin
12am - 2am: figure out if this will be a transit flight or a flight where we got to get out bag out and check it in again
2am - 7am: Tiger airways to Melbourne

so, no pictures of the bus ride on First coach, was watching Blood Diamond and falling in and out of sleep (only had an hours sleep the night before). Lucking thing for on demand video, you can watch any movie you want, and time you want to.

so we arrived in Singapore, had lunch at Burger King....i've always wondered why the Mushroom Swiss in Singapore tastes so much better than the ones they make in KL......don't they have a SOP to follow??

Anyways, decided to be kiam siap and take the MRT to changi altough we were lugging around 2 big suitcases and 2 cabin sized luggages.

reached changi, got misdirected into the wrong terminals twice!! (always go straight to the Information counter and not ask random strangers for instructions!)

Took a skytrain from the brand spanking new Terminal 3 to Terminal 2, transferred to a shuttle bus out to the budget terminal.....

we thought we were kiasu to arrive even 2 hours before the check in time, but this is the line that we encountered once we were there!!

documenting our wait in the almost bare budget terminal....none of the glitz and glamour of the brand spanking new Terminal 3......budget is REEEAAALLLLYYY budget!!

forgot to print out our e-ticket, had to access e-mail to get the ticket number

the budget trolly at the budget terminal

the budget people lining up for best seats

the cabin sized luggage that aips packed.....a free gift from esso when you buy motor oil.....it's such a crap bag that we had to transform it to ....

this bag!! it was going for cheap at the airport, so we decided to get it.

at least the planes were looking not too budget-y....

we had to purchase own food and drinks.....so aips decided to go for wine in a can

only one wine in a can on a budget airline vs. food and unlimited drinks on a conventional airlines......is they money saved really worth the travelling time wasted and all the inconvenience of lugging big sized luggages all around singapore???
